This weighty solid gold chain is a made in a style found across the Roman Empire. The links form a distinctive shape that replicate ancilia, the sacred Roman figure-of-eight-shaped shields based on a symbol from earlier Mycenaean Greek art. Across many cultures, the symmetry of the figure eight symbolizes balance and harmony. Handmade in 20k gold with a signature toggle clasp. The Ancilia Chain has two closures at 22 inches and 18 inches, so the necklace can be worn at either length or as a lariat with the clasp in the front. The Ancilia Chain is also available in standard lengths of 18 inches (necklace) or 7 inches (bracelet) with a single closure. All chains can be made at custom lengths upon request.
