In 331 BCE, when Alexander the Great seized the treasury of Babylon, large quantities of gold entered the Greek world. In the generations that followed—now known as the Hellenistic period—the production of gold jewelry surged, and signet rings inset with colored stones became popular.

This ring draws from that moment, when newly abundant gold reshaped the scale and ambition of jewelry across the ancient Mediterranean.

Emerald cabochon bezel-set in 22k gold on a 22k curved back with a 20k gold band.

Size 6½. Other sizes and gemstones available upon request.

Part of a small series. Made to order with a 4-6 week lead time.
