Variations of this design appear throughout the ancient Mediterranean, including examples excavated at the Mesopotamian city-state of Mari. 

In ancient jewelry, granule clusters like these are believed to symbolize a cluster of grapes, a motif associated with abundance and prosperity. 

Handcrafted in 22k gold with 20k ear wires. Each granule is individually formed and fused to the next without solder.
